Our vine varieties
TheMontepulciano produced on the hills of Tollo has peculiar traits which differentiate it from the rest of the Abruzzese wine production. DOCG Tullum red wines have an intense ruby red colour, with purple hues, turning to garnet red when fully mature; it has a typical red-fruit aroma with herbal and spice notes; it has a dry, rightly tannic taste, with a good structure conveying harmony and elegance when savouring the wine.
Passerina andPecorino are two very important vine varieties natives of the Tollo area. Thanks to the DOCG Tullum, they managed to stand out and reach a certain level of fame. The white wines produced from these grapes, which differ based on the variety’s peculiar traits, have a pale straw yellow colour, with floral and fruit aromas that are intense, fresh, and pleasant, and emphasize the distinctive features of the vine varieties.
